If you use lemon or orange zest when cooking, you may be interested in learning about citrus oils. They conveniently come in bottles and last a very long time. I learned of them through David Lebovitz and have been using them ever since. David is a renowned American pastry chef who currently lives in Paris. He writes books and occasionally returns to the US for book signings. As David points out in his blog, they're definitely better than a fridge full of zested and dried out fruit. I didn't know Macs had a problem on Thursday. I have an iMac and noticed nothing wrong. Maybe it's just Mac users in south Florida? Too hot down there, probably! :-)
